A life on film

How can you make an alternative movie poster more personal? Use family photos as key art!
That was the thinking behind "A life on film", a project my colleague Lucija Šilić and I did a few years back (still as design students).

The project was included in the biennial exhibition “1112” of Croatian Designers Society.

Looking through our old black and white family photos, it often seems like our ancestors lived in another reality—one that is easier to connect with celluloid stories then with our everyday life. The idea that our parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles could have been stars in some of our favorite movies made us take those old photos and put them in a movie context. This way we joined the alternative movie posters trend, but making it as intimate as possible.
